Since 2006, a European Safety Standard was introduced for the manufacture and structure of bouncy castles and/or all inflatables that fall within this term. It is important as a hirer that you are aware the unit you have chosen to hire: 

(a) fully complies with this standard 

(b) has a valid safety certificate and 

(c) the hire company is insured. 

In relation to insurance, the hire company should hold Public Liability Insurance. Please note that this insurance only applies to the hire company: 

(a) being on your property, 

(b) setting up the bouncy castle and 

(c) taking down the castle. 

If you wish, you can take out insurance for one day, to cover users of the bouncy castle or

you may already be covered within the terms of your house insurance. It is your responsibility to check and implement this.

At HKL Events we would like to re-assure you that all our units are manufactured and fully comply with EU Standard EN14960. We are insured, and we hold a valid safety certificate for all our units.

Please carefully read all our terms and conditions before signing!

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE:

1. All equipment on hire or loan shall remain the property of HKL Events or its suppliers.
2. All equipment is used entirely at the Hirees’ / Users’ own risk, whether or not the equipment is staffed or self-run.
3. Any excessive dirt, loss or damaged equipment will be charged at full replacement/repair cost.
4. Any damage or loss must be reported immediately.
5. On delivery the equipment should be inspected by the Hiree and any faults reported immediately. Any fault not reported at the time of delivery will be deemed to be the responsibility of the Hiree.
6. Hirees’ must ensure that:
7. Access is available at the stated time of delivery.
8. The proposed operating site for the equipment is clear of any obstacles that may prove to be a hazard for the safe operation of the equipment.
9. The position of any underground services, water pipes, gas pipes, electrical cables, sewer pipes, domestic oil pipes, etc, are clearly indicated to the delivery staff prior to installation of equipment.
10. The Hirees’ representative has the authority to sign for delivered equipment and receive any safety/operating instructions.
11. Once equipment is installed it must not be moved, have items added to, be altered in any way or used for any other purpose other than that which it has been designed for, without the written permission from HKL Events. All equipment must be used in accordance with all relevant legislation, all operating instructions issued by HKL Events and in a suitable safe environment.
12. The Hiree is responsible for ensuring that adequate first aid facilities are available if necessary.
13. The Hiree is responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations are enforced, and that equipment is constantly supervised as per the operating instructions issued.
14. The Hiree is responsible for ensuring that the equipment is not used in inclement weather conditions.
15. The Hiree is responsible for providing any insurance’s required. We strongly recommend that insurance be arranged to cover Public Liability and Loss / Damage of Equipment.
16. In the unlikely event of an accident occurring, full written details including, name and address of injured party, names and addresses of witnesses, circumstances of accident must be recorded, and a copy sent to HKL Events IMMEDIATELY.

OPERATIING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE OPERATION OF INFLATABLE:

The person or company hiring the inflatable is totally responsible for the safe operation of the inflatable and should insure the following:

1. The inflatable has constant supervision by an adult who is of clear mind and not under the influence of alcohol or other mind altering drugs.
2. To admit users to the inflatable in a controlled and safe manner. To restrict the maximum number of users at any one time to the design number for the inflatable or if design number is not immediately available or known restrict numbers so as not to dangerously overcrowd the unit using common sense and by erring on the side of caution in this matter. (As per safety label on the inflatable unit).
3. To restrict the maximum height of users at any one time to the design height for the particular inflatable or if design height is not immediately available or known restrict the height to the smallest wall height of the inflatable.
4. To use at least the minimum number of operating personal or supervisory attendants.
5. That users remove their footwear.
6. That users remove sharp or dangerous objects from there person and glasses were practical.
7. To prohibit food, drink or gum on the unit.
8. To prohibit users from hanging or climbing on containing walls.
9. To prohibit somersaults or rough play.
10. That operators and or attendants watch the activity on the inflatable constantly and use a whistle to get the attention of users.
11. That operators and or attendants separate larger, more boisterous users from smaller ones.
12. Do not allow anyone to bounce on the front safety step as a Child could easily bounce off the inflatable and get hurt. The step is there to assist users in getting on or off.
13. Ensure that nobody with any illness or history of back, neck or other joint problems etc is allowed on the inflatable as indeed any Child who is feeling unwell.
14. Under no circumstances should ADULTS use the bouncy castle or unit.
15. No smoking or barbeques near the inflatable.
16. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO OPERATE THE UNIT!
17. Do not allow anyone to be on the unit during inflation or deflation as this is DANGEROUS.
18. Ensure that an area of 6 feet (2 metres) around the unit is completely clear.
19. The inflatable should not be used if it becomes wet on the jumping area. If no shower cover is fitted and in the event of rain, the unit should not be used.
20. In the event of heavy rain, it is strongly recommended that the inflatable be switched off. Any wetness, including bubbling (which is normal) can be dried with a towel.
21. In the event of winds over 19 – 24 mph it is the responsibility of the hiree to switch off the inflatable and deflate in a safe manner.

BLOWER:

In the event that the blower stops working, please ensure all users get off the inflatable immediately. Make sure the blower tube or deflation tube has not come undone or something has not blown onto and is obstructing the blower. In the event that it overheats, or loses power, switch the blower off at the mains, then switch it back on again 1 or 2 minutes later, it should restart. If it does not, inform us straight away.

INSURANCE:

Public Liability insurance cover is in place should HKL Events in any way be negligent in the setup of units or should any equipment be in any way responsible for any injuries due to faults in the equipment or during the set- up process. HKL Events is NOT responsible in any way for accidents resulting from use of the unit. It is the Hiree’s responsibility to ensure that their own independent public liability insurance cover is in place for persons while using the unit.

I HEREBY AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS LISTED ABOVE AND AGREE TO HIRE THE EQUIPMENT LISTED BELOW WHICH IS SUBJECT TO THE LISTED TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS ABOVE. ALL EQUIPMENT WILL BE RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION AS AT THE START OF HIRE.
